I promise I’ll get back to the film stuff soon – I’ve got loads of it to come! But after spending the last hour shredding garden waste, I’m not in the mood to write a lot, and my next film related post will probably be one that contains a lot of images.

So, for now, here’s another from the digital archive. I was going to post this in it’s original 3:2 ratio, but then I experimented with some crops and much prefer this panoramic “X-Pan” version. Even after cropping away a significant portion of the original 24mp frame there’s still a ton of detail. Click through to see the original on Flickr for a better view.

Who needs an expensive 100mp Hasselblad X2D II? I do, please… :D.

Cycling by the sea

My wife and I took a trip to the seaside today. Walking was done, fish and chips and ice creams were eaten, and photos were taken.

By the time I get through my significant backlog of developing, scanning, and uploading, it will probably be 2027 by the time those see the light of day on the blog though!

So here’s another seaside picture from almost five years ago, back in 2021, which I recently re-edited and uploaded.

Swans and a waterfall

Another digital shot dropped into the mix.

This was taken in the beautiful Monte Palace gardens on the mountainside above Funchal. There will be more pictures to come from this location which I shot with my trusty Olympus Trip 35, but I’m currently wrestling with a daunting backlog of images, so it might be a while…

One of those rare instances where I post a picture on the same day I took it – although that is much easier when it’s a digital shot.

I visited a photo exhibition in the central library today, and this was the view up from the bottom of the (squared) spiral staircase.

Prey (and an eclipse!)

A quick post today as I don’t want to miss the eclipse (it’s getting darker as I type!).

So here’s a picture I quite like that I took the other day. The lion looks much too friendly to pounce, doesn’t it. Doesn’t it?

I took a similar picture on film too, so you might see that at some pint as well.

UPDATE!

My eclipse photos, taken with my ancient 8 megapixel Canon S2IS bridge camera with two ND filters Blu Tac’ed to the front. I doubt they’ll impress NASA, but I’m still glad to have gotten them.
