I’ve been spending a little time looking back at older pictures in my archive recently. Sometimes there are images hidden away in there that I didn’t spot the potential of at the time (sometimes, usually with digital, because I just had too many to go through)

Here’s one of those images, taken somewhere in Manhattan (I’m not sure where exactly – perhaps someone recognizes the spot – maybe the Applebees will give it away) during our last visit back in 2019. I really like the tonality from the bright sunlit buildings at the top of the frame, to the shadowy fall off at the bottom.

It made me think that I ought to shoot with my micro four thirds kit again – it’s been sat mostly unused for several years (apart from an outing a couple of weeks ago where I wanted to test some ND grad filters that I’m planning on using with my film cameras).

Despite its age, it’s clearly still a very capable camera. It’s also the only digital camera I own that lets me shoot at a 40mm prime focal length, which is something I like. It will pair nicely with the 28mm of my Ricoh GRIII in that regard.

And so I took it out with me today and shot a bunch of frames. My goal was to get a single picture that I liked, but I ended up with several. I’ll perhaps share some here when I’ve processed them.
