This somewhat dillapidated farm building is marked on the map as “Hollins”. Although the sun was already rising quite high in the sky by the time I took this, there was still plenty of side-light and contrast and it’s probably my favourite shot from this roll. It’s been cropped to remove a section of largely featureless sky.

A gate on the footpath I took when heading back towards Edale a couple of weeks back. I believe the peak you can see at the far left background is The Nab on the south-eastern edge of Kinder Scout.

I came upon this small chapel by accident. I’d seen a cluster of farmhouses on the map that I though might make a good photo (they didn’t, as they were behind high hedges), and this 11th century church was across the road. I wasn’t able to look inside as it was locked up, but it made for a nice photograph.
Unfortunately, as with several other shots on this roll, I’d incorrectly exposed the film due to not having the lumisphere in pace on my light meter. I though I was taking an incident reading but was actually spot metering the sky. Doh!
While I’d have preferred correctly exposed shots, I don’t think this has turned out too badly after some tinkering in Lightroom. It has a bit of a faded vintage feel to it.

This is a side entrance to the HSBC building in Sheffield. It’s a new structure that hasn’t yet been occupied which stands on the site of the old Grovsenor House hotel which was demolished a couple of years ago.

This is probably a bit of an everyday type shot, but I liked the scene enough to press the shutter, and the Portra has captured the colours wonderfully. I don’t think it would work without that big white cloud though.

A scene I’ve photographed before (not long after I first got the Yashica Mat, in fact). I’d hoped for a few more puddles in the road, but only got a trio of small ones in the shot. The dry road surface doesn’t make for a bad leading line though.

This shot was taken a few minutes after the photo I published in my post from the 20th March. The earlier image was the last shot on the roll of Portra, and this was the first on the roll of Shanghai GP3. I’ve cropped this image to a 6×4.5 ratio as the upper part of the frame was just empty blue sky, which didn’t add much to the picture.
I *think* I prefer this B&W phot over the colour, but there’s not much in it really. I like them both a lot. The colour image is a little more abstract as it only features the ploughed field and sky.

Following a barely noticeable theme, we go from yesterday’s picture of a cement mixer to today’s picture of an excavator. This was parked up atop a pile of earth on what looks to be the site of a new home being constructed. It’s in a nice location, so will undoubtedly be costing a penny or two.
Anyway, I liked the way the machine was framed by a couple of trees and the way the shadows produced nicely dappled light on the scene.
