Another chain
I thought I’d post another photo of a chain today – actually part of the same fence I posted a photo of yesterday. I was quite surprised to see that this photo AND the one I posted here yesterday made it into Flickr’s Explore section today. I don’t tend to see many of my photo’s in Explore, so to get two consecutive shots in there on the same day was quite an unusual thing to happen (for me, at least).

An unknown device
A trader demonstrates some sort of device to customers at his market stall. I’m not sure of its purpose, but it appears to be a bell of some sort.

Barcode forest
The term ‘forest’ in the title up there is somewhat misleading. This is actually a small plantation of pines nestled into a meander of the River Rother not far from Eckington. It’s a place I’ve never visited before, but it has potential for some nice photos – it certainly did on the snowy, misty day when this photo was taken.

The house at the bottom
There’s an impressive flight of steps that descends the side of the hill down to the road where this house stands. I didn’t venture down them on this instance though, just took this shot before the roll of film ran out. As it was the final frame, there was some damage to part of the negative and so it’s been cropped to a square format. The light wasn’t great and I shot this wide open, which has resulted in a nice effect from the resulting shallow depth of field on the foreground.

Frost on the windscreen
Friday morning was both frosty and misty, so before work I went for a quick drive out to finish the roll of HP5+ in the camera. I took this one before even getting in the car.

Grasses in the mist
As all the snow we’d had recently began to thaw, we had a wonderfully misty day. I shot nearly a full roll of film over the course of a four mile walk. It was well worth the squelchy ground. 🙂
