Contrasting nicely with yesterday’s old building, here’s one that is considerably more modern. Named The Strelitzia after an Italian flower, this striking house in Lincoln is the work (and home) of a local property developer. Construction on the house began in 2007. My opinion: Like most modern architecture — yuck….

While I’m not sure it’s somewhere I’d want to live, I do like the look of this one – certainly from a photographic perspective. It’s position means it stands out against the sky, and the colours, angles, and windows catch the light in an interesting way. I think it would be interesting to photograph it in different conditions.
