£10 boots

These boots were on the floor outside a stall full of bric-a-brac at the Lincoln Steam Rally. I enjoy looking at stalls (or shops) that carry this miscellaneous hodge-podge of stuff.

The vast majority of it is on no interest whatsoever in terms of purchases (although I have found the odd camera bargain or interesting book) but it’s nice to look at it all nontheless. There’s a sense of nostagia and mystery to it. What is it? Who did it belong to? How did it get here?

I’ve no idea what those mechanical fastenings near the bottom of the frame are used for, for instance.

I sometimes wonder if, one day after I’m no longer around, some of my stuff will end up in a similar place?
