Today I present two views of the same scent. One in portrait orientation, the other landscape. I’m not sure which I prefer – the portrait shot has better composition, I think, while the landscape orientation possibly has more atmosphere thanks to the birds in flight (and in the trees), but at the expense of the foreground fence being less well positioned. Anyway, here are both of them.
Olympus OM-1, Zuiko 135mm f/3.5 & Kodak Tmax 100.

Beautiful – thanks for sharing!

I prefer the landscape version (not so much foreground), I like the black and white – and its good to see someone using an OM-1! π

Thanks Adrian. The OM-1 is a great little machine, and the viewfinder is a thing of beauty. It’s probably my favourite camera.

Well. I don’t know how old you are, but I’m old enough (neatly 68!) to remember the first – revolutionary! – appearance of the OM-1. In those days, small was beautiful, and simple was beautiful too. I used my OM-1 and OM-2 throughout 12 years in Kenya, and delighted in them and their compact lenses – and now I still have these two cameras – mouldy tho they are! – and I keep them with a good deal of affection. You have a few years on me – I would’ve been not long out of nappies when it was launched. I can still appreciate a classic design though. π
