Despite it’s appearance, this horse lorry contained no horses. Instead the rear of the vehicle has been converted into a living area. It’s possible you could house a horse in there I suppose, but it might make a mess of the furniture…

Sadly, for any thrill-seekers in attendance, there was no sign of a constructed Wall of Death at the steam rally, so I had to make do with pictures of its transportation instead.

These are the final two colour pictures that I’m publishing from the steam rally this year (that I shot with my Yashica Mat 124G).
While the subjects differ considerably, I did notice that there is a nice Red / Yellow / Blue thing going on in both pictures, so I think they work together in that regard.

It wouldn’t have been the summer without my annual visit to the Sheffield Steam Rally, where I increasingly seem to be photographing the same things every year.
I took a whole bunch of pictures as usual and, as I still have quite a backlog of photos to catch up with, will post them in batches rather than individually. Starting with some traction engines…
The final shot is interesting because, while the main subject isn’t a traction engine, there is a tiny one perched atop it (and a full size one in the background too).

This is probably a mundane sight to Spanish residents – it’s a delivery van for the Dulcesol baked goods business. But we don’t have Dulcesol vans in the UK, so it’s vivid red and white livery, along with the backdrop of palm trees and hotels make it a novelty and an interesting subject for a picture.
I wonder if there are Spanish photographers visiting the UK taking pictures of branches of Greggs? 🙂

It’s that time of year when I flood the blog with lots of pictures of traction engines and other vintage vehicles. This year I visited the Sheffield Steam Rally, as usual, but also visited the Haxey Feast, which is a new (and at present, smaller event, so I have quite a few pictures to share.
I might drop them in batches, like this roll of Tri-X, or maybe some as individual frames. We’ll see how it goes.
