This feels like a seaside picture, but it was actually just a layer of pebbles laid down on a farm track a long way from the sea.

Country lane(s)
Three country lanes (well, the first two pictures are the same lane) photographed during the same walk. I’m still a little miffed that I lost a lot of the shots from this roll. There are a few that I really would have liked to have seen turn out properly, both pictures of horses as it happens. Still, I guess should be thankful for the pictures that were salvageable.

Barley
At least I *think* it’s barley. I’m never quite sure which is which and have to look it up, but these have awns – the thin bristles poking out of them – so I believe barley is correct.
One thing that wasn’t correct was my exposure of this roll of film. I think I’d changed the metering setting on the camera and the resultant negs were extremely thin, with a sizable number ruined as a result (losing a few pictures I think would have been pretty nice). Luckily I was able to rescue some of them and I’ll post them in the coming days.

Four curved lines
I’ve photographed this scene on several occasions as it’s on the way to the local country park. Maybe one day I’ll time it when a train is passing…

One route into the park
There are several entrances to Rother Valley Country Park, most of them for pedestrians only – this one included. Car owners are not left out however, although they do have to pay to enter if they visit in their vehicle, and during the warmer months hundreds of them will fill up the car parks and line the far side of the lake.
This entry is just off the Trans Pennine Trail and is a reminder of the parks prior industrial heritiage, passing under a disused railway bridge that used to carry part of the rail network which transported coal from the colliery that used to cover much of the area.

Crustacean
The chimneys of this waste recycling plant struck me as looking a little like the eyes of a crab peeking up above the treeline. Hopefully it doesn’t have similarly sized claws…
