You may have noticed, but I’ve been posting a bunch of pre-scheduled stuff for the last week because I was on holiday. I’m back now and will resume the usual manual posting from tomorrow (although I guess this counts too). For anyone who’s commented on my posts and I haven’t replied yet, I will seek to do so soon.
I bet you’re bored of this water tower by now (even though it’s quite a photogenic subject, I think)… 🙂

Clear skies in Barcelona meant there was some gorgeous light about, although the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter mean that this only falls on locations at certain times of the day. When you catch it though, it’s lovely.
Another misty day here in the UK today, so I got out for the third time in as many days with my Yashica Mat 124G and a roll of Tri-X. I’m hoping to start developing the three rolls on Monday.

Following the churchy (is that a word?) theme from yesterday, here’re a couple of pictures I took of St. Swithin’s church at Holmesfield.

A few pictures today of traction engines (and a wooden caravan) photographed at the Sheffield Steam Rally back in June.
I did a quick tally of how many negative I currently have waiting to be scanned today and it came as a bit of a shock. I currently have four rolls of colour 135 each with approx 38 frames on each, two rolls of colour 120 with 15 frames on each. On top of that I have four frames of large format sheet film to develop and scan, and also a roll of 120 HP5+ with 6 frames left to shoot before I develop and scan it. By my reckoning that will be 201 pictures to be scanned – a daunting prospect! Plus I still have three rolls of film that I’ve already scanned that have not been seen here in any shape yet! At least I won’t run out of stuff to publish on the blog any time soon…
Obviously not everything will be worth publishing, but I expect that I will be featuring more picture-heavy posts on here to avoid falling ever further behind, chronologically.

I liked the look of this scooter parked outside this shop, especially with the helmet and standard lamp visible in the window. I’m less happy at the fact that I caught my reflection in the glass though. I’ll occasionally go for a self-portrait but, on the whole, I usually do whatever I can to avoid being caught in reflections when taking a photograph.

I’ve taken a LOT more images around the house since the lock-down began. Some work, some don’t – and I’ve got a whole bunch of colour shots that haven’t even been sent for developing yet, so who knows how those will turn out? Hopefully not too far from how I envisaged them through the viewfinder but, again, who knows? I’ll just have to wait and see.
Today’s photo of the standard lamp is one of three I made one evening a couple of weeks back when the urge came upon me. The effects of the lamps in the living room on various ornaments and parts of the room appealed. Sadly, the Sure Shot that was loaded with film at the time perhaps wasn’t the right tool for the job – even mounted on a tripod and using the self-timer, it struggled to make focus on two of the images. I’ve included both of those here too – they’re out-of-focus but hopefully you can see my intent (plus, despite the focus being out, I do kinda like the shot of the aerial socket and the cable shadows).
