There were a few groups of people milling around the area when I went to take this picture. While it was impossible to avoid getting anyone in the shot at all (at least during the time I was willing to wait), I quite like the couple walking away from the shot in this case. They’re unobtrusive and nicely framed between the layers of the fountain.

A small, selfie me, trapped in one of the spherical water features in Sheffield’s Millennium Square.

I didn’t spot this noticeable “X” formed by the reflection of the buildings and sky until I looked at the negatives.
The water feature is one of several, variously-sized, artworks near the Winter Gardens in Sheffield. They are, along with the “Cheesegrater” car park – which is a literal stone’s throw from this spot – probaby the most photographed objects in the city.

I can’t remember if I’ve posted a photo of these on the blog before, but this is a new shot taken this past weekend. There are several of these water features around St. Paul’s Place in Sheffield, all different sizes and clustered in groups or individually. They are probably one of the most photographed things in the city, along with the “Cheese Grater” car-park (which can just be spotted encroaching into the top of this image).
There’s a vague ghost of a selfie to be spotted in the reflection. 🙂

People enjoy the unseasonably mild February weather by the fountain in Picadilly Gardens, Manchester.
The 35 RC’s lens had coped quite well with the conditions (shooting straight into the direction of the low sun). There’s some noticeable flaring in the shot (top left, and lower-centre right), but nothing too severe and the contrast has remained in place.
