A 1952 Morris Commercial police truck, or Black Maria, to use the common parlance for a vehicle used for prisoner transport, stands here beside an Atkinson lorry dating to 1968.

I *think* this is a Land Rover Series IIa ambulance, with production dating to 1971, but vehicle identification is not my strong suit. I can make a decent , and often accurate, attempt, but it’s very easy to miss the nuance that can be present with such detective work. Anyway, what I’m trying to say in a very long winded way is, I might be wrong. 🙂

I think that this picture works quite well, the traction engine and steam roller, as well as the people in the scene are nicely placed. Quite often I get one or the other, not both, so I’m pleased how this one turned out.
