Steel City Snapper photography
35mm, medium format and large format film photography (with the odd bit of digital every now and then…)
In Sheffield city centre, next to the town hall, is a police box. It’s often referred to as the TARDIS, likened to Doctor Who’s vehicle of the same name, but this one is a different shape and painted green, not blue.

There was an pro-EU demonstration in town last weekend, so I went along and took a few shots.

The building in the background of the shot is a bit of a landmark in Sheffield (and one of the most photographed buildings in the city it would seem). It’s a multi-story car park, and its distinctive cladding provides countless compositions depending on the shooting spot, angle, lens, light etc.

Pubs are an industry in decline. Many (away from town centres, at least) are either closed, struggling, or transformed into family pub-restaurants. There are still loads of pubs about, so they aren’t on their last-legs just yet, but it’s a common sight to see one boarded up these days, sadly.

I think that this is a BSA A10 Super Rocket, but I’m no bike expert, so could be wrong. Please feel free to correct me if so. 🙂
The shot was taken at a steam rally last summer (I posted about it a couple of times here & here but never published this particular photo).

This small, seemingly abandoned (or at least in need of some repairs) building is located in Eckington, a few miles from my home. I’ve glanced at it on several occasions as a potential photo subject, but on the day I took this it was sat in brilliant sunlight, so I stopped the car and took the shot.
