Getting closer…

I thought that these three photos worked well as a set, with Lincoln Cathedral featuring in each as I walked through the city making my approach.

Sorry to not write more – it’s almost thirty degrees celcius in my office at present and I’m sat here with a damp cloth on my head to keep cool while I type! – so I’m trying to limit my time at the computer.

  1. Nice series – color, composition, and thoughts behind it.

I guess such temperatures are not the norm for you – 86F (30C) seems pretty pleasant to me! Of course, humidity and what you are used to make a difference. Insulation and air conditioning, as well as closing up the house, makes the heat more tolerable. I do hope that things cool off for you!

    1. Thanks.

30C and above are pretty uncomfortable over here. Our housing is designed to keep heat in more than to keep it out and very few homes have air-conditioning (it’s just not needed for the vast majority of the time), so it’s a case of trying to keep cool using fans and other methods.

The temps are forecast to drop to the low 20s tomorrow which is much more normal for this time of year, and a lot easier to deal with.

I guess that, if we continue to get hotter summers because of climate change, then we’ll have to invest in some sort of air-con system at some point though.

      1. You do have my sympathy with the heat. I used to live on the coast and then moved inland 30 miles. Heat in the 100F arena and I got heat stroke. Thought I had a cold. Since then, very careful. It’s like moving from one climate to another – warm to cold, cold to hot – we need to get ourselves educated. Stay safe!
