When I visited King’s Lynn, although there were plenty of people about, and lots of traffic, the roads close to the quayside were often devoid of pedestrians and traffic. Not completely empty, but quiet enough that it was easy to bide my time and get a photograph of the street scenes without anyone around.

There’s a great Fry and Laurie sketch where Laurie’s character has a King’s Lynn address.

I really need to give the of A Bit of Fry and Laurie shows a watch someday. I’ve no idea why, but I completely missed out on them, despite enjoying their work together in so many other things. I’ve even got the DVD of their obscure 80s Channel 4 show, Alfresco, which they appeared in alongside Robbie Coltrane, Emma Thompson, Siobhan Redmond and Ben Elton!

Not to mention, if you’re a Wodehouse fan, the Jeeves and Wooster series.

How eerie. Not knowing anything of King’s Lynn, it seems like a ghost town to me. Nice series.

Hi -N-. Just a stones throw away from these locations was the busy shopping area of the town centre. I think the fact that most of these streets are residential (and have parking restrictions) lent to their quiet air. Made it much easier to get uncluttered photographs!

Such a dichotomy! And yes, empty streets certainly do help with photography. Always enjoy your work.
