No, not that Hollywood. This is the equally well known* Disco Hollywood in Lloret de Mar, Spain.
I liked this scene because of all the signage on the walls. Not just the Disco Hollywood sign, but the carnisseria, supermarket, and ATM signs too. The lady walked into the frame as I was setting up the shot.
*Not equally well known.
Olympus Trip 35 & Kodak Pro Image 100. Lab developed. Home scanned and converted with Negative Lab Pro.
Taken on 4 June 2025

The lady doesn’t hurt anything in this shot, unlike a lot of times when people entering the frame at just the wrong moment really messes up the composition.

I suspect that many people don’t realise what a camera is sometimes. The number of times I’ve had one to my eye about to take a shot and someone proceeds to not only walk into the frame, but then stop and stand there seemingly unaware of my existence, is surprising!

How oblivious people are today to virtually everything is truly unbelievable. When I was a kid the overwhelming majority of people paid attention to their surroundings, had spatial awareness, and actually thought things through moment to moment. To put it bluntly, they used their brains. But today?… It’s as is the opposite is true and the overwhelming majority of people are now utterly brainless. I think there are a lot of reasons for this, but chief amongst them is what the Internet and cell phones have done to humanity at large. Both have turned people into blithering idiots that sadly don’t even know how to think. I may be being harsh, but this has been my observation. The way people’s minds work — or rather don’t work — today is radically different than even twenty years ago. I find it horribly sad.

Yeah. I don’t know whether these people are ignorant of what I’m doing, ignorant of their surroundings, or just plain ignorant and don’t care whether they’re in my way or not. The first two I can kinda forgive, the third is plain selfishness and self interest.
I’m always aware that, in a public place, others have as much right to be there and do the things they need to as I do, but a little courtesy and consideration never goes amiss.
I always take care to show my gratitude thank those people who do stop and let me take my picture – even those who do that slightly ineffective ducked-down rush in front of the camera to try and avoid getting in the shot that used to be much more prevalent. 🙂
