This is the last of the shots I’m going to post from the Venice trip, and it shows the Votive Temple of Peace, a military chanel house, on the island of Lido di Venecia, where our ferry briefly stopped to let passengers on and off. A but a bunch of others pictures from back in Lido di Jesolo will be appearing soon.
Sorry to not have much more to say today. I’ve just develped a roll of film in hot, humid conditions and managed to smash my thermometer all over the floor in the process, necessitating a major clean-up operation. I’m done for the day, I think.

Sorry about the darkroom mess – but this is lovely! I have been totally enjoying your Venice photos – classic color photography with a lot of elegance. Nice work!

Thanks N. I don’t have a darkroom, so it was more of a utility room mess. As our cats also get fed in there it meant we had to completely wash all their food dishes and other things in cade any fragments of glass or “mercury” (its not actual mercury, but whatever chemical it was inside the thermometer) had contaminated them. Then vacuum and mop the floor. Not fun!

Your cats appreciate it… well, they probably won’t since they’re cats; but you know…

Yeah, they don’t care about any of that nonsense. I am purely here to do their bidding. I know my place. π

Hello (again!) Lovely image, reminds me of a Turner painting, can’t remember the name, but from the period before he went all “atmospheric”! I have a poor track record with thermometers, I seem to snap them very easily – it’s like a superpower! Then I discovered digital, I’ve got to find a whole new way of breaking one of those!! π Cheers Andy

Thanks (again!) π
Luckily, I had a spare thermometer, so it hasn’t put a stop on my home developing, but I need to be more careful with this one. The actual clean-up process was probably worse than the cost of the lost instrument though – glass and “mercury” went EVERYWHERE!
