Slide film blues

There’s an amazing richness to be had photographing blue skies on colour reversal film. Just look at those lapis tones in the sky above Hooton Pagnel church in this picture. There’s a tad of vignetting added by the Sure Shot Supreme’s lens which adds some even deeper tones to the corners.

  1. I looove slide film. I’d shoot so much more of it if it wasn’t so expensive, and also if the latitude was just a bit more. Finding days where ISO 100 film is appropriate here in the Northwest can be hard.

    1. I’d like to buy more fresh slide film. I have some, but most of the stash I have is expired. Thankfully, all the expired rolls I’ve shot have still given me very nice results.

100asa film isn’t always the best choice here in the UK either – too many grey, overcast days – so I have to carefully pick and choose when I shoot it.

      1. I had some good luck with cold-stored slide film that I got off eBay a year or two ago. But now the prices I see for that is usually within a couple dollars of fresh slide film, often even more! I’d rather just buy fresh Ektachrome for $20 than twenty year expired Elite II for $18.
