The start of The Pennine Way

The Old Nag’s Head pub in Edale marks the starting point of The Pennine Way, a 268 mile long trail running all the way to the Scottish Borders where it ends at Kirk Yetholm. It was officially opened in April 1965 and traverses many areas of upland landscapes including the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, the Northern Pennines and the Cheviot Hills (crossing Hadrian’s Wall along the way).

  1. This image has wonderful tonality and the strong contrast is highly effective. I’m always impressed with your Fomapan results, not just the 100 speed but all three varieties, and in 35mm as well as 120. If you don’t mind me asking, what is/are your typical developer(s) for these emulsions? I hope you’ll continue to use and share your experiences with these films as you do great work with them.

    1. Thanks P. I get my photographs developed at a lab, but I know that they use Kodak Xtol for black and white development. I then do some additional post processing in Lightroom to get the photos how I like them.

      1. Thanks for the information. XTOL is an excellent developer. I assume the lab is using it replenished, which makes it incredibly easy to use and also very inexpensive for the lab. I wish more labs used replenished XTOL as it’s one of the best general purpose developers in my opinion.

Again, your results with Fomapan are fantastic. I hope you’ll continue to shoot it regularly and share your images.

        Take care.
